Steve Legler is a Family Legacy Advisor based in Montreal, Canada. He grew up in a business family, destined to take over the company his father had founded before he was born. After an unexpected liquidity event that occurred while he was still in his 20’s, he ended up managing their family office instead. He also married into a business family, where he has witnessed a number of other complex issues.In 2013 he stumbled upon the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) program in Canada, which turned in to career-changing calling for him. Since then, he has been working with other business families as they face the challenges surrounding their intergenerational transitions.He works with family clients as a facilitator, and sometimes as a mediator. Discovering a problem through life/work experience and solving that problem through multiple iterations. I started my "lawyering" in small claims cases and immediately noticed a problem - people and businesses representing themselves were losing cases they should win, mostly because they didn't know what they were doing. So I started coaching and teaching clients the rules, procedures, tips, and tricks in Small Claims Court. But it was difficult to schedule the meetings, keep them concise, and charge a reasonable fee that made sense for the case. I've iterated the program now to a first-of-its-kind online small claims coaching program called Gavel.
I am the founder of Small Claims Academy, a company that provides people and businesses tools to help them succeed in small claims cases. The Company's first product, Gavel, was released in early August to litigants in Georgia. Since 1979, the name Steve Anthony has been recognized in media-markets around the world for his accomplishments and high standards. In Canada, Steve Anthony is an award-winning radio and television broadcaster and host was a founding VJ’s of MuchMusic, which, along with MTV, pioneered music-video television worldwide. During his 9-and-a-half year tenure at MuchMusic, Anthony did double duty, first as Morning Show host at CFNY (Toronto), and then, as co-host, launched CITYTV’s “Breakfast Television”, now one of the most popular TV brands in Canada.
